Different kinds of birds and not only woodpeckers enjoy woodpecker feeders and wild bird feeders. In the process, you will now know what steps to take in setting up your own birds’ feeder. You have to options wherein first, you may buy woodpecker feeders or you can build one. What you need to have in order to create one are pieces of wood, pointed saw to make holes and some nails. To cheer things up and to kill time, consider this as your carpentry project.

Mesh wires can replace wood if you don't like sawing and cutting up wood. Create some kind of a space using the loop to fill in the woodpecker's food.

Choosing a big branch is an option for woodpeckers to have a wider space. Just make sure too that the location for this would not attract too many birds to avoid them to be crowded.

In order to set up your woodpecker bird feeders, you basically need to have three things which are power drill, twines and bird house feeder. Upon using the power drill, you will be able to make a hole on the tree branch where you want the feeder to be placed. You have to make sure that the hole you made is deep enough to let the twines pass through it. If the location of the woodpecker feeders is too high, it may be necessary to use a ladder every time you would need to clean and refill it.

You also have to ensure that the twines or ropes used to put the woodpecker bird feeders up are securely tied. To increasing stability and support, better tie it in two separate places. Tug lightly at the bird’s feeder so that you will know if the entire assembly is structurally ok.

Now, you have finally completed your woodpecker feeder’s setup. To see if there is anything that you need to adjust on the feeder, take a few steps back away from the tree branch. If you see anything that needs to be changed on the entire feeder, then you may do so. Soon enough, woodpeckers would be attracted to go to your feeders. If woodpeckers begin to feed in your offered nuts and seeds, try not to get near them as your movement and presence might scare them away. You can also use window bird feeder. Probably, you can take pictures of them from afar. Woodpecker bird feeders are easy to manage. Using a small brush for maintenance to sweep off the dirt in the feeder would do the trick. Through this way, woodpeckers would definitely be more enticed to come back for more.
